Open Joint Stock Company “Mogilevkhimvolokno” is the only large manufacturer of dimethyl terephthalate, PET chips, polyester fiber, yarn and synthetic film in the Republic of Belarus and the main supplier of raw materials for light industry.
OAO “Mogilevkhimvolokno” belongs to city-forming enterprises of Mogilev. The company has the infrastructure ensuring the operation of a large full-scale manufacturing facility as well as the skilled personnel and personnel training systems.
A distinctive feature of the company is combining of the technologically related plants into the integrated production chain - from raw materials (dimethyl terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate) to end products (fiber, yarn, nonwoven materials of various types and application) manufacturing.
The manufactured products comply with the world quality standards and are in great demand: over 65% of the manufactured products are exported. The products are exported to more than 30 countries of the world.
At the present time the company is a full-scale manufacturing facility consisting of five factories:
- Organic Synthesis Factory producing dimethyl terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate copolymer, textile grade PET, PET preforms, synthetic fiber of “standard” and “conjugate” type;
- Synthetic Fiber Factory producing polyester fiber, composite materials, polyester substrates for roofing material, geotextile, polyester fiber-based nonwovens of various application, strapping band, fire hoses;
- Industrial Yarn Factory producing industrial yarns;
- Synthetic Film Factory producing a wide range of polypropylene, polyolefin and polyethylene films;
- Mechanical Repair Factory producing equipment for chemical plants and spare parts for this equipment.
ÎÀÎ Mogilevkhimvolokno has a developed social infrastructure including: health resort "Sosny", hotel service, public catering service, maintenance shop.
The main directions of the company development are utilization of the existing capacities to the fuller extent, increasing competitive ability of manufactured products through quality improvement and cost reduction, revamping and innovative products manufacturing.
OAO “Mogilevkhimvolokno” is carrying out vigorous activities related to modernization of the existing production facilities and new products development, implementation of new investment projects aimed at the energy saving and deep processing of the basic raw material.
Thanks to the efforts of OAO Mogilevkhimvolokno’s employees and governmental support, a number of projects based on high technologies and latest scientific achievements were implemented to ensure the production of competitive products being in persistent demand on the world market.
The main development objective pursued by OAO “Mogilevkhimvolokno” is complete conversion to polyester products production based on terephthalic acid. This is determined both by the economic efficiency of this technology, as well as by the global trend - polyethylene terephthalate is synthesized from terephthalic acid all over the world, and only few dimethyl terephthalate production plants left in the world.
OAO “Mogilevkhimvolokno” is carrying out comprehensive modernization of the existing production facilities. The first stage of the investment project "Polyester products production complex" has been implemented providing for the production of textile grade polyethylene terephthalate chips and a completely new plant for polyester fiber production by direct spinning on the basis of the existing continuous polycondensation plant with a capacity of 80 thousand tons per year.
The implementation of this project has resulted in the launching of production of innovative types of polyester products, namely, polyester fiber of “conjugate” type which is not produced anywhere else in the Republic of Belarus and CIS countries. There is a perspective to expand the assortment range of polyester industrial yarns by producing "fine" assortments. High-cost, low-efficiency and obsolete production facilities are being decommissioned.
Taking into account current economic situation the society faced the need to implement investment projects with minimal capital costs and significant benefits. Investment projects aimed at stabilizing economic activity, gaining new sales markets and maintaining social stability have high priority.
Development Program till 2030 is aimed at implementation of the following investment projects:

Traditionally the products of the Company win the award in the contest "The best goods of the Republic of Belarus" held by The State Committee for Standardization of the country.
Hollow conjugate siliconized polyester fiber 0,78 tex, dull polyester standard fiber 0,156 tex 38 mm, air-entangled polyester industrial yarn type Ì 960 with linear density 113 tex and multilayer polymer film became the best products upon results of 2020.
The Company was given a special award "The Best in the district" and a diploma "Stable quality".
The Company provides industrial and non-industrial services, freight forwarding services, social services, services for repair and manufacture of spare parts for equipment.
