About Us

Open Joint Stock Company “Mogilevkhimvolokno” is a part of the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry. It is the only large manufacturer of dimethyl terephthalate, PET chips including bottle grade, polyester fibres and yarns, the leading supplier of the raw material for light industry – the largest branch of the national economy of the Republic of Belarus.

JSC “Mogilevkhimvolokno” is one of the local economic mainstays.

Ñombining technology cycle - connected plants into a unified industrial complex in one area (from the production of the raw materials: dimethyl terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate to the manufacture of finished products, such as fibres, yarns, nonwoven materials of various assortments and application) is the enterprise feature.

The output goods meet the requirements of the world standards of quality and have a great run: more than 60 % of the main products polyester-based are exported to 35 countries.

The enterprise incorporates four factories and one division:

  • – Organic Synthesis Factory;
  • – Synthetic Fibre Factory;
  • – Polyester Yarn Factory;
  • – Machinery and Repair Factory;
  • – Construction and Repair Division.

The Organic Synthesis Factory

A Glimpse of the Factory History

The DMT Plant construction began in October 1966; the second startup complex of the enterprise was the biggest and the most complicated one. 24 building organizations took part in the DMT plant construction. In December the first line was put into operation at commercial load. DMT – the first product – was manufactured in March 1970. In 1976 No. 2 DMT plant was put in commission. In 1980 – No. 3 DMT plant. On the basis of these 3 plants according to No.232 Order of the enterprise management dated 9 March 1982 the Organic Synthesis Factory was established. In 1983 No.4 DMT plant was put into operation. The first polyethylene terephthalate was manufactured in December 1983. In 1984 the PET Chemical Plant was commissioned. In 1993 the Postpolycondensation Plant was put into service.

At present the factory includes two DMT plants and two PET plants.

The products manufactured conform to the world standards.

DMT is used for the production of PET and varnish paint.

PET is used for the manufacture of polyester yarns (industrial and textile), polyester fibres, molding articles, polyester film (for food packing) and packages;

PET for molding articles is used for the manufacture of PET bottle grade (for the food packaging materials production).

Biodiesel fuel is used as a transport fuel.

Polyester resin is used as a binder for thermoplastic compounds (for road pavement marking).

The ADMT plasticizer is used as a softener of rubber (for tire production).

Aromatic polyester polyols are used for the manufacture of rigid and flexible polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams.

Niobe oil (methyl benzoate) (technical) is used for the production of perfume compounds (for cosmetic products) and other chemical compounds.

The Synthetic Fibre Factory

A Glimpse of the Factory History

No. 1 Synthetic Fibre Plant (“Shtapel” (Staple) – 1) with a capacity of 33 000 t/y was put in commission in July 1970. No. 2 Synthetic Fibre Plant (“Shtapel – 2”) with a capacity of 25 000 t/y was put into service in November 1974. No. 3 Synthetiñ Fibre Plant (“Shtapel – 3”) was put into operation in June 1977. The Synthetic Fibre Factory was established on the basis of these three plants on 1st September 1997.

  • Artificial leather.

The Polyester Yarn Factory

A Glimpse of the Factory History

On 31 December 1985 the first line of No.2 Synthetic Complex Yarn Plant with a capacity of 4000 t/y was put into operation. On the basis of this plant according to No. 721 Order of 22 November 1989 the Polyester Yarn Factory was established.

At present it produces high-tenacity industrial polyester yarns adhesive and inadhesive, twisted and untwisted having different degrees of shrinkage.

Types of output goods:

  • HMLS (high-modulus low-shrinkage) (adhesive);
  • HT (high-tenacity) (adhesive);

  • Industrial cabled polyester yarn.

Application

HMLS (high-modulus low-shrinkage) (adhesive):
- For tire industry;

  • HT (high-tenacity) (adhesive):

-For the production of rubber goods (conveyor belts, hoses, belts, etc.);
